64Bit SRC and volume control
« on: April 05, 2015, 01:19:23 pm »

Hello MC Team

Do you have plan to integrate 64Bit SRC and volume control for best sound quality etc such as iZotope engine or his analogs ?
I know one mac player with these options but it is only one advantage for me regarding MC but I would really like that my favorite MC also got a similar options in the near future  ::)

Thanks guys!  :D

What are you looking for exactly?  64 bits worth of volume control is ridiculous.  Anything more than perhaps 80 to 90 dB of range on a volume control is useless.  So you must be after something else.

JRiver says that Media Center processes all audio effects using 64 bits.  You can read what they say here.

Yes, read the Ultra Precise (64-bit floating point) section linked above.  The entire audio path is already 64-bit.

Well, what can you say about your technology Ultra Precise (64-bit floating point) compared with iZotope MBIT+ dithering Volume Control and iZotope 64Bit SRC ?

1. I want have possibility to control the sound volume from my computer or iOS devices by JRemote using DAC + power amp combination without preamplifier. Without degradation sound quality at low volume levels.

2. As I know Apple Core Audio is using 32Bit processing or 24Bit with Integer Mode.
For example Audirvana using iZotope 64bit engine sounds little better for me (not only for me). If there were an possibility to add this option to MC it would be checkmate :)

We have no plans to add iZotope support.

It's a pity!  :'(

But that about the comparison of Ultra Precise and iZotope technologies and my question №2 about Apple Core audio and Integer Mode? Please give me more details if it possible  8)

I'm sorry, but I can't provide the kind of detail you're asking for.
