Size of RAW images after import.
« on: April 20, 2015, 12:56:07 pm »

I have imported several RAW images. When I hover over one of them in the main view, the popup that is displayed gives the correct width and height. But when I attempt to edit one, the editor indicates that the size is 640 x 480. And if I try to resize, unchecking the "allow enlarging of images" option, they are saved at 640 x 480. Why is this and how can I edit the full sized image?

Could you provide a sample of one of the problem files to matt at jriver dot com?

Thanks.

Thanks for the sample.

I got it to create a 640 x 480 sample one time.  Then I erased the sample and tried to reproduce it and I haven't been able to.  So I'm sort of lost looking for what to do.

You could try emptying your raw cache folder and see if it comes back:
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 20\Default RAW Image Cache\JRImgCache

The cache folder is already empty. When I set RAW Cache to "None" I told it to delete all files in the cache. And it didn't add a new cache file when I imported a new image. I've attached a screen shot showing the image editor with the image size indicated to be 640x480. The true size of that image is 3881x2607. 640x480 is the maximum size that image will be if I try "save as".

Hey Matt, when you say you erased the sample, what do you mean? I will try doing the same thing and see what happens. Also, I did get the problem to go away by setting RAW Cache to None, as I said. But that didn't hold for images added after I changed the setting. I can email you more RAW images if you like so you can reproduce the problem again - maybe once the program "learns" the file's true size it doesn't forget :-)

This appears to be fixed in version 20.0.99. Thank you.

Yah!!!

I just wasn't sure if the fix would work because I just couldn't reproduce the darn problem after reproducing it once.  That was frustrating.

But anyway, glad the fix worked.
