6. NEW: Full support for native DTS-HD decoding.
If anyone else is wondering, I have tested a couple of films now and the output from this decoder appears to be identical to the Arcsoft Decoder.

The audio CRCs from files do not match, but after performing a null test, the only difference between them is that the files created using the Arcsoft Decoder have an additional 512 samples at the very end of the file.
I'm not sure which is correct, but this is not a difference that matters.

Should we remove the old arcsoft decoder file now or does it matter?

Well the update replaced the entire lav plugin folder, which deleted the Arcsoft Decoder from my system, so I guess the plan is to remove it.
I have just tested some lossy DTS tracks (not DTS-HD) and the new decoder seems to decode them to 24-bit rather than 16-bit (this is a good thing) so there does not seem to be any need for the Arcsoft Decoders now, unless someone finds a bug in the decoder.

There are so many different formats it's entirely possible that there are some issues, but at least from the limited testing I've so far, it seems to be perfect.

Hendrik said that if you have the Arcsoft dll in your system (i.e. you copied it to System32 folder or SysWOW64 folder) it will continued to be used. So you can delete it if you care to. But he also said it doesn't matter because either way the output will be the same (bit perfect).

You should remove it.  The dtsdecoderdll.dll is not multi thread safe where the new one is.  eg if you use the Convert Video -> Audio function with the old decoder you should only select one track at a time or you get issues with the converted audio.  The new one is fine.

What should we do if we run TMT 6 as well (for 3D blurays)?

TMT 6 will still use it's own version of dtsdocoderdll in it's own install directory.  To make sure MC is using the new library, make sure you have removed (if you added) a copy of the dtsdecoderdll.dll from any of the following directories:
- %APPDATA%\J River\Media Center <VERSION>\Plugins\lav\
- Windows 32-bit: %WINDIR%\System32\
- Windows 64-bit: %WINDIR%\SysWOW64\

Thanks
Nathan

Thanks, Nathan. I really appreciate you including all the locations. I probably have a copy in each!

Yeah I did I search of my C: Drive and had it stashed all over the place!  If one copy was good, more must be better right ?

Yeah, I should do a full search too. However, I will archive a copy just in case.
