"Convert Format" fails for hundreds of my files
« on: April 25, 2015, 10:53:02 am »

Attempting to convert hundreds of my files from m4a, flac, wav, wv, etc to mp3 fails in MC.  At my age I am less interested in sound quality than reclaiming HD space for my 350,000+ files...

Try converting a single file type at a time.  If you find something that won't convert, save it and let us know.  Something may not be thread safe.  Probably m4a.

MC20 shut down repeatedly trying to convert 2500 files ( mix of FLAC and MP3) - to FLAC with DSP.

Does it always stop on one file?  Try segmenting into batches to see if you can find the offending one(s).

Are you using something in DSP that isn't thread safe?  A VST filter perhaps?

Converting MP3 to FLAC isn't a good idea.  It won't improve the sound.

Neither is applying DSP to FLAC when you encode.  You're modifying the original file.

But you may know that...
