Lip Sync Issue (from poor signal quality?)
« on: May 02, 2015, 02:32:07 am »

Yaobing I've been testing to see how EOS goes with the new time-out when playing Live TV locally to an Android Tablet.  One thing I have seen is I've got a Lip Sync issue that may be due to a poor Signal Quality (we have a storm at present) and I got a few breakups and stutters.  After almost an hour of TV, it is fairly bad (a few seconds out).  I've checked the segxxx.ts files and the sync issue is present in them so it is not the streaming end.  I'm not sure there is much that can be done but I thought I'd mention it.

Thanks

The transcoding right now isn't very resilient against signal drop outs, its designed for transcoding media files, not live TV, so there is that.
I assume watching TV (or a recording of it) in MC directly doesn't have sync problems?

Maybe thats something I can address in the future.

Correct - Just retested and while the Lip Sync issues are evident in the transcoded segxxx.ts, the source JTV/CNK buffered recording are in sync
Thanks
