Registration problem
« on: May 19, 2015, 10:20:24 pm »

Months ago I had downloaded and tried MediaCenter and then I did not find the time to explore it. I have now reinstalled MediaCenter and it asked me to register and pay when the program opened in a dialog box. I clicked the Purchase button and it opened the JRiver webpage under Purchasing and there is lots of information on registering but no way to actually register. There is reference to purchasing in the MediaCenter Help pages but since I can't open MediaCenter I have no way to purchase a license. I have clicked and explored a number of support pages. I have searched the forum. I can't get beyond the dialog box to get to the application's help page.

Would someone instruct me on how this works? Thank you.

You're looking for the page on the web site to allow you to purchase Media Center correct?

Here's main purchase page:

http://www.jriver.com/purchase.html

There are links from there to different versions you can buy.  Here's the direct link to buy the Mac version:

https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/buy.cgi?productid=58

...and a link to the Master License, which gives you licenses for Mac, Windows, and Linux:

https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/buy.cgi?productid=60

Now, once you purchase a license, you'll get a registration code mailed to you.

You then have to go to the "Restore Page", and enter your license or your email and they will mail you a second item called an Install Key.  This Install Key comes as a file ending in .MJR .  This is what you'll actually use to activate JRiver Media Center's license.  I just tested this with a new user on my Mac.  Looks like you just double click on the MJR file with JRiver closed and it installs the license.  Should be pretty easy.

Welcome to JRiver.  I hope you enjoy it.  :)

The best way to purchase Media Center is from within the application itself.  It is under the Help menu, or on the splash screen that comes up if your trial is expired.

You can also, if you wish, use the purchase page Brian linked above.

It would have been helpful if these links were clearly present on the PURCHASE page. I did not see them.

I could not get beyond the MediaCenter dialog box that opened and asked me  to purchase the app. There is no way that I could find to get to the help menu. So I could not purchase through the help menu.

Again, if there are working links to purchase the app on the purchase page I did not see them. Hence the frustration.

All is well. Thank you for the prompt and reliable response.

You can purchase it right through that dialog box. That's what I meant by the "splash".

But, sorry for the trouble!  Glad that got you sorted.
