Analog scanning
« on: May 23, 2015, 03:51:26 pm »

I use two USB Hauppauge WinTv HVR950q dongles. As things stand now, If I invoke setup, only the digital over the air devices will show and scan. The two analog tuners are visible and configurable if I select "devices" but I can't include them in a profile ... I live in Canada where there are still some analog over the air signal. It was working fine until a few versions ago. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Is it so?  I thought Canada had converted to digital years ago.

Yeah, Canada was excluded from over-the-air analog setup because of that.  If there are still OTA analog signal available, I will re-enable it.

Unless something funny happened very recently. We did convert a while ago, but some dispensations were made in many areas. TVfool still lists two analog channels. I could try with another software and see if they are still there ...

Yup! They are still here! Two of them in Red Deer.

I thought I'd give you this Wikipedia link on the digital tv situation in Canada just in case you are interested. You never know.

Thanks
