OVER CAPACITY (iPod Synch Error)
« on: May 31, 2015, 12:08:52 am »

When trying to Synch music from a playlist or individual songs drag and dropped to the Synch Window I get the error: "Over Capacity - You have attempted to transfer 9MB more media than will fit on your device"
I get this error even though I have now freshly restored the iPod and is has 75GB available space and I only try to synch 1 single 9MB MP3 file. I have tried everything to get this to work. So I'm wondering:
Is iPod synch supported on MC20?
Is there a trick I should know?
Thanks!

80GB iPod Classic
MC 20.0.94
MacBook Pro 13" 2010
OS 10.8.5

UPDATE: Still No Luck
I have just installed the latest MC for Mac build 20.0.113 and the problem synching to the 80GB iPod remains the same: after clicking on 'Transfer' the 'Over Capacity' error comes up, and when I continue the progress bar goes instantly to 'Finished' but there are no files added to the iPod.

Also, I was able to synch just fine to an old school 1GB Creative Zen player...

It should.

There was a change fairly recently in the way MC handles calculating storage requirements when doing Handheld Sync. I wonder if that borked something up with the legacy iPod syncing?

I don't have one to test... Are you sure iTunes can sync to it?
