HOW DO I Get MC TO RECOGNIZE MY CD WRITER?
« on: September 23, 2003, 09:26:05 pm »

Once again MC has lost recognition of my CD Writer and ability to rip is lost, with the same error messages as before.
"Open drive failed parameter is out of range" And
"Error Read track failed.
Drive is not opened"

It worked fine on Ver. 9.1 242 then I upgraded to 9.1 256 and it also worked fine. I downloaded and installed the latest Direct X 8.1 Could this be the reason for the loss of my CD writer? Anyway I ran system restore to a time before installing the latest Direct X  effectively removing it and I still cannot Rip or Burn "No CD Burner Found" is the message I get.

Its got me stumped Please shed some light on the disappearing CD Writer.

The latest build should take care of this problem. It's a bug in the Adaptec 4.7X aspi layer installation program. You may need to run the new MC, reboot your computer, then start MC again.

If a formal introduction is not enough, you could have them wear name tags . . . . picture I.D.'s are another option   ;D
