Ratings didn't sync

Just wasted 3hrs rating tracks.

My setup... MC20.0.115 running on laptop and htpc. The actual library is on the htpc. I use the laptop exclusively as a "remote control" to load the htpc library and PLAY THERE.

This problem occurred years ago in an old version but seemed to rectify itself.

auto-sync with server is enabled on the laptop > media network > client options

All my ratings did not take effect! I closed and re-opened  on both "sides" and all gone.

Why?

Something else weird was happening. I was checking to see if changes took place if I manually sync'd and they did. However when I switched back and forth to playing here (laptop) to play there sync failed advising saying to check that auth was set. It was. Changed back and forth again and still got the error. Closed and opened and it was fine again, made said changes = error again!

Anyway I went back on htpc wiped out the media network settings and started again now everything seems fine and my changes are syncing + no errors when I change play to and manually sync. So somehting is weird here...

Set up authentication on the server, and log in on the client.  Check your work.

This is done this way to protect your data.
