Sound Lagging when connected to external DAC

Hi,

I have MC 20 Version.  When I connect to the A&K JR and use it as an external DAC I have a 5-10 second gap in sound.  Other Apps also have a lag as well as all the games, I have Skyrim and P3d both have this lag but not when connected direct to pc.  Can anybody help?
