3D Printing
« on: July 03, 2015, 11:40:04 am »

Anyone else trying this?  I have a makerfarm prusa i3v kit I've been working with for a while now.

I've got my cost down to about $300 per successful print.

Things are so perfect in my minds world, I have thought my world out in my mind, I just need to print it out in triplicate.

2 more successful prints with only minimal additional outlay!  I think I'm under $200 a print!

Is that amortizing the cost of the printer itself, or your actual cost of materials for the prints?  If the latter, are you a jeweler or a goldsmith?

The printer itself is in there.  Plus the two dead print heads.  Plus materials.

It is actually replacement parts for the printer itself.  That's the key to 3d printing.  It is a race to print replacement 3d printed parts before they wear out.  If you can't do it then 3d printing isn't for you.

I wonder if it could at one time in the future print human body parts, that would be truly interesting.

Just imagine all the lives it could save.
