Start Menu Items
« on: September 20, 2003, 11:41:06 am »

Dumb question: Im running MC 9.1.256. I have 3 MC related menu items in my Start/Programs menu in Win XP: JRiver Media Center, Media Jukebox 9.0, and Media Center 9.0. Im assuming the first is the one created during the 9.1 install and I can safely delete the last two. Is that correct?

At Start-Menu folder:
Right-click ---> Properties --->
check creation date . . .
9.1.256 will have yesterday's date, the others are unnecessary

You might also want to look at Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to see if you still have 9.0 installed.

<sound of open palm against forehead> Doh! Now why didnt I think of that? Thanks.

Ive only got 9.1 installed, but because Ive never uninstalled, just installed on top of each previous version, I guess I got a few ghost menu items. I was asking mainly because I think Ive messed up uninstallation for other apps in the past by reorganising their start menu shortcuts.

Thanks all - and good to see you back Lisa.

I believe that you can only have one version installed.  All the shortcuts will have pointed to the same program (Media Jukebox.exe).
