Adding Genre
« on: February 13, 2003, 03:44:28 am »

i'm trying to organize my music library and notice that all of the songs I had previously labeled as '80s' are now appearing under the Genre 'FOLK.'  is there anyway to add '80s' to the Genre list in MJ8?

Thanks

With the latest builds of v8 (396 is latest) you should be able to type in '80's in genre and it will appear in the list (after the 1st file corrected is saved) from then on (I just tested it...it does). If you've got a bunch that are incorrectly genre'd then create a Smartlist or a View Scheme that screens out all files except the "folk" ones, then start editing.

This was a bug in an older version of MJ8.  It wouldn't let you use a genre that started with a number.

Before you upgrade, be aware that the current version of MJ8 makes significant changes to it's configuration.
