Using JRiver In Place Of MinimServer / BubbleUPnp ?
« on: August 01, 2015, 08:28:45 pm »

Previously I used JRiver on my dedicated audio PC with no problems.
Listening to files on a NAS, and using MinimServer, BubbleUPnp, and Lumin resulted in a vast improvement in SQ, but although all my files are correctly tagged in JRiver, MinimServer is extremely picky and it's display of the NAS's library is full of errors, and deletions, to the point that it's just about unusable.
I understand that I can keep my same work flow: NAS - Router - Rendu SSR - DAC, but use JRiver as the GUI. That is my PC will only be used to run JRiver, with all the files and audio processing NOT going through my PC.
Is the correct way to hook this up Router to Gigabit Switch. Rendu and PC to Gigabit Switch vis their respective ethernet ports, all using CAT5 cable ?
Hopefully I'm clearly explaining my question.
Thanks.
