TRying to use DVD player in Windows 10 on a HP Pavilion. Keep getting an error message "the text associated with this error code could not be found. 0x8004027d" when I dug deeper Windows 10 told me I should uninstall Media Center because both programs might be trying to access the DVD info at the same time.
However, when I go to Add/ Remove programs I find Media Center 17 is unavailable so I cannot delete it.
I upgraded to Media Center 20 , thinking the newer version would uninstall the older version but, no.
In addition when I tried to play a DVD with Media Center 20, I had the same difficulty; the DVD would not play. (I have tried multiple DVDs.)
I uninstalled Media Center 20 thinking all Media Center info would be uninstalled including Media Center 17 but only Media Center 20 was uninstalled. Media Center 17 stays, stubbornly, unavailable and un-uninstallable. BTW when I try to open Media Center 17 uninstall dll, I am told that the program was installed with another operating system.
SO I am pretty confused.
What I am thinking is that I need the JRiver techs to develop an uninstall dll for Media Center 17 that is compatible with Windows 10. Or an uninstall dll that searches for and uninstalls all Media Center programs that is compatible with WINDOWS 10.
btw OPINION There si a reason WIndows 10 is free. Filled with glitches.
Thanks for your insight,
