no TV channels found at all.
« on: August 11, 2015, 01:53:28 am »

So i had media 17 for years.  Everything worked...then one day. it wouldn't download the TV guide (digital TV no cable)  upgraded to 20.

20 cannot find any tv channels.  Using HD HomeRun.  HD HomeRun sees the channelsin the config and set up, i can see them in the HD view.  But nothing in j river.  nothign found.  Scanned even on the slower setting.  Firewall set up.

Any ideas.

Your forum search skills are amazing!

Microsoft recently changed the source it uses for EPG data. That change broke EPG collection in all versions of MC, but was fixed in MC21.

Read these;

Or just search for "EPG" in this forum;

If you have recently paid to upgrade to MC20, then your licence will work in MC21. Get it here;

If you are not finding channels with a HDHomeRun, it is probably your firewall.  Try turning it off and scan for channels.  If it works, then you can add JRiver20 as an exception to the Windows firewall (or any other firewall you have installed).

I use 2 HDHomeRuns and 2 HDHomeRun Primes, and have no issues, so it is not JRiver.

okay upgrading to media center 21 solved the issue.  Only thing now is figuring out how to input the schedule (EPG)  Having a bit of difficulty with that

Searching the TV forum for "EPG" and "mc2xml" should find lots of information for you. See http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=11.0

This thread doesn't have all the answers, but it is probably the best place to ask questions if you don't find answers searching the above forum: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=99218.0
