Random MC termination bug

(1/6) > >>

Okanochiwa:
Hi all, I am testing JRiver MC 20.0.131 on Linux Mint 17 and experience random termination.
It can happen 3 times in a hour, or "only" once in a day.

I have tried on Kubuntu 14.10, same issue (even worse).

Apart from JRiver, my Linux Mint is perfectly stable, no crash from any other program.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

mattkhan:
anything logged (in syslog etc) to offer any clues as to why?
any particular actions triggering it?

Okanochiwa:
I made no particular action, the computer is idle and I am in the sofa listening to music.

From syslog:

--- Code: ---Aug 16 20:18:06 Mint kernel: [86195.102281] mediacenter20[14818]: segfault at 2e00000072 ip 00007f206c39e69e sp 00007f20237fca10 error 4 in libJRReader.so[7f206c107000+37c000]

Probably some incompatibility in the networking code or a misbehaving DLNA device. Are you using the 64 bit or 32 bit build?
Try turning off media networking.

Okanochiwa:
I am using Linux 64 bits, and I believe the 64bits version of the package based on the repository added:

--- Code: ---deb [arch=i386,amd64] http://dist.jriver.com/latest/mediacenter/ wheezy main
--- End code ---

My network player is Marantz MCR 510, which is used by numerous people with JRiver without issues.
I will try to leave JRiver open with media networking disabled.
