Unable to let JRiver keep ASIO control on Windows 10
« on: August 21, 2015, 12:49:55 am »

Hi there, I have JRiver configured to output to my 5.1 system through S/PDIF and Dolby Digital with ASIO on. However, on Windows 7 I was able to use my computer normally with JRiver having exclusive control over my audio. Now, whenever a sound comes on in Windows 10 (be it anything), JRiver's audio cuts out, and the player is stuck (still reads as playing, but the progress bar doesn't move) while Windows 10 (DirectSound I guess) takes over. I cannot use the pause button, I have to stop and play the track from start again.

Any way to fix this? I have "Allow Applications to take exclusive control of this device" turned on in the Playback Device's properties.

Thanks.

Try WASAPI with Exclusive Mode checked in the settings.

This works, just wish ASIO did as well. I suppose not a big deal at this point. Thanks!
