My wake times (and go to sleep times) are wildly inconsistent.
On a regular work day, I get up somewhere between 6:30 and 7:30am, to be at work between 8:30 and 9am (with the kid at school). On a weekend, I sleep until forced to wake up by the family. My pattern for going to bed varies wildly, but "usually" I tell myself I'll be in bed by 1am. In the real world, it is often 2 or 2:30 before I get to sleep. Then, occasionally, like last night, I pass out early because I've been pushing myself like that with 4 hours per night for too long. If something is going on, I can get up as early as maybe 5:00am if needed, but that's the border. If I have to do any earlier, it is
far easier to just stay awake from the night before.
I have pretty terrible insomnia. I've gone to work many, many times at 4:30am because I still couldn't sleep so I might as well just get up and go in. It is weird, though. I'm not an insomniac like some, where I wake up in the middle of the night. I have a TERRIBLE time falling asleep, but once out, small scale nuclear war probably wouldn't wake me up. I'm like a rock. It takes me, usually, four separate alarms to wake me up (and the clocks can't be too close to my bed or I smash them).
My issue is basically this: I need 7-8 hours of sleep to feel "good". But, if I get that, then I'm not even
remotely tired after 16-17 hours (after 8 hours of sleep, I can usually go a solid 22-23 hours before being tired again). So, unless I
moved to Mars, I'm screwed.
Whatever... I'll sleep when I'm dead.
