I am having a problem where MC (22.0.108) becomes unresponsive after stopping Live TV. I have to abort MC to get the program to end.
I am using a legacy HDHomeRun HDHR3-US (Firmware 20161117). MC is configured as Client/Server. Server is running on Windows Home Server 2011 SP1. Client is running on Windows 10 Pro (Build 15063). Problem is not specific to a single client. Seems to happen to all of my Windows 10 Clients.
Live TV viewing seems to work just fine. I am able to change channels etc. without a problem. Just can't stop Live TV without crashing MC.
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on how to best troubleshoot this problem?
Thanks!

Do you have the tuners enabled in MC on the Server, and disabled on the Clients? This way all recording/time-shifting is done on the server and live tv is sent through the Server to the Clients.
-
I had not disabled the tuners on the client. Disabling the tuners on the client seems to have solved the problem.
Interesting... I do not recall this being a problem in the past but am not exactly sure when this started to occur since I do not routinely use MC to watch Live TV.
I have always been unclear on the 'proper' setup for Television in a client/server configuration. I have always assumed that in order for the client to work, the tuner had to be enabled on the client as well. I guess I assumed incorrectly.
Thanks!

Excellent!

Looks like I may have spoke too soon. :(
Disabling the tuners on the client seems to have shifted the problem to the server. Now when I stop Live TV on the client, the server becomes unresponsive.
So it looks like I am back to square one. Any other suggestions?

I have attached a log from the server. Hopefully it contains some useful information.
Thanks!

Have you rebooted everything since disabling the tuners on all Clients?
Reboot PCs, routers, other network devices, just to be sure, and try again.
-
Rebooted router, switches, tuners, and PCs. Unfortunately the problem persists.
-
I am having the same problem with a HDHomeRun Expand EU on three different computers. No server set-up here. When I stop a live feed MC hangs and has to be terminated manually.
Everything has been rebooted, but the problem is still there.
-
I can add that I am running Windows 10 fully updated on all three PC's, HDHomerun firmware 20170512beta1 and MC 22.0.110.

Please provide a log. Usually this is caused by a problem in some DirectShow filters, in particular the filters related to the tuner device.
-
I provided a log about 5 posts ago. Do you require another one?

Oh, sorry, no. I downloaded it and forgot to read it.

Log attached from one of my computers with this problem. This happens nomatter if I use RO Standard or RO HQ. This log is with RO Standard.

Bump

Sorry, getting bogged down by other issues. Will look into it as soon as I can.
-
Can you provide a log with logging verbosity set to 1 or 2?
I see where it hangs in both of your logs, but am still not sure what caused them.
-
I am not at home for the next couple of days. Can I see in the Wiki how to do that?

Logs for for Verbose 1 and 2 attached.
-
Thanks for the verbose logs. Unfortunately they only provided a little bit of extra info.
Please download this DLL. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/lw4a18ecd563ulc/JRTelevision%202.zip?dl=0) Unzip and copy JRTelevision.dll into MC22 installation. Set Logging verbosity to 2 and run another log please.

Hi Yaobing
Log with DLL in MC installation folder and Verbose set to 2 attached.
-
Hi again
The latest software from SiliconDust seems to have solved my problems on all three computers. The software installed that contained a firmware upgrade is hdhomerun_windows_20170612beta3.
Yaobing, let me know if you need more info from me.
-
Good to know.
Your last log shows that hanging occurred when we try to release the tuner device.
I am glad you found the solution and thanks for sharing it.
I will consider this matter closed.

I have been off the grid for a couple of weeks. It appears that the HDHomeRun 20170612beta3 update fixed the problem for me as well.
Thanks!
