Apple doesn't allow going backwards on Apps.
Post a screenshot of the diagnostic returned by the connection attempt on JRemote.

The 192 address is your local one.
Are you sure the server is using port 52199? Check in Media Network settings.
Did you allow MC33 in Apple's "privacy" settings?

Thank you for trying to help me.
"The 192 address is your local one" - meaning?
The port number is right
I have searched the privacy settings on my iPhone but what should I look for?

Local network access.

There's a chance you may have to wait until a JRemote update is released from the beta channel.

So there is hope ...
How long do you think i will have to live without JRemote?
Oh - how will I know when the JRemote update is ready?
Thanks again

Please delete the existing JRemote and re-download it from the App store (write down your settings, they will be deleted).
If that still doesn't show the local network switch in JRemote settings and it still doesn't allow local network support please respond here.

Thanks Bob. I just followed your instructions but sadly with the same result as mentioned earlier on. The key i reset, the iPhone is restarted .. and so on and so on. No luck in trying to connect with the ip adress either
