Title: Playlist by import date range ?
Post by: TonesterT on February 03, 2006, 10:27:55 pm
Hi,
Is there anyway to create a smart playlist that is by a range of dates ? Imported songs from Jan 1 thru Jan 31, Feb 1 thru Feb 28th ect ...
In iTunes I used to create smart playlist for each month so I could see what I add is a certain month.
Thanks

difficult as mc's smartlists work mostly with "time ago" values. how about a view scheme instead?

just ask if you want any help building it, that won't be a problem.

Thanks Marko for the link on how to do this. I couldn't figure out how to make a tree view like you have but I was able to create a view to so show the imported dates.

I couldn't figure out how to make a tree view like you have but I was able to create a view to so show the imported dates.

Matt explains how to add a node to the tree root:

You can create root schemes now in 11.1.  Pick a non-library item ("Start" for example) and do Edit > Add View Scheme... from the menu.

So, you click on 'start', then you click on 'edit' (the one on the toolbar (http://www.theganghut.co.uk/pics/ia/edit.jpg)) then on 'add view scheme'
and off you go. As I mentioned, it's in no way essential, I am just really happy having all my library maintainence stuff tucked away in it's own area of the tree, leaving the main [media type] nodes purely for playback. I find this most excellent :)
