Title: Failed installs left no restores
Post by: duesy on April 09, 2006, 08:14:41 pm: Hi: Upgrading my home computers and various attempts to reinstall MC have either crashed or, if successful, within days have required a reinstall. During these reinstalls, I've blown through five or six license restores and I'm still not up and running. Please advise how to return to prior state where I can continue to restore, thanks.

Post by: modelmaker on April 11, 2006, 03:48:29 am: You don't need to use a restore everytime you reinstall MC as long as your within 14 days of last restore. Save the key code to a folder, then use "restore from File". Each restore key is good for 14 days and you can use the same key on all your computers.

I can modify network for the future, but what about the used-up restores? Can you please "reinstate" my account with a few additional restore privilages? The process of updating my computers to a new OS has been more time consuming than expected, thanks.

Once you save the key code to a folder, you can copy it to a floppy and transfer it that way - no need for network access.
