Failed installs left no restores
« on: April 09, 2006, 08:14:41 pm »

Hi: Upgrading my home computers and various attempts to reinstall MC have either crashed or, if successful, within days have required a reinstall. During these reinstalls, I've blown through five or six license restores and I'm still not up and running. Please advise how to return to prior state where I can continue to restore, thanks.

Hi Eric,

Quick question: why are you using your MC10 restores and not your MC11 restores?

Hmmm. I am using my MC11 Registration Key to restore MC website. Should I be using another procedure?

Make sure you have the latest version of MC11 and that your Registration Code is also for version 11.

You don't need to use a restore everytime you reinstall MC as long as your within 14 days of last restore. Save the key code to a folder, then use "restore from File". Each restore key is good for 14 days and you can use the same key on all your computers.

I restored from interenet with serial number since the restore key was located on a computer lacking access to the other machines requiring MC updates. I can modify network for the future, but what about the used-up restores? Can you please "reinstate" my account with a few additional restore privilages? The process of updating my computers to a new OS has been more time consuming than expected, thanks.

Once you save the key code to a folder, you can copy it to a floppy and transfer it that way - no need for network access.

Send JimH a PM and explain your situation and I'm sure he or someone at J River will help you out.
