No, it'd be your adblocking software  ;D
FWIW, AdMuncher blocks all these images by default & I'd imagine the AdBlock extension for FF would as well.

All the adblocking software is doing is it's job.
I wouldn't say the banners are at all bad, but again they're nothing spectacular.
A good advert needs to show off the capabilities of MC & look glossy at the same time.
I think an animated gif (Flame retardant suit on!) using the theatre view cube as base would be very cool.

good call leezer. that would be the adblocking feature of outpost firewall. it really is one of the best I've ever encountered. browsing other pc's without it is horrible.

it replaces the ad image with a 1x1 gif file, so no missing image placeholders. I'm that used to it doing its thing I simply didn't think of it here.
I had to add pix01.com to the adblocker's whitelist as it was blocking the thumbnails!!

So does it just block all small image files?  That would seem like a problem.

you would think so, wouldn't you, especially as one of the sizes it blocks by default is 100 x 100 images, but it does not block the forum avatars here, and most of those are 100 x 100, so it would appear to have some kind of smart logic thing going on. pix01 is the only site I've ever needed to add to it's whitelist.

I've got a similar effect by using a large hosts list, that sets most sites to 127.0.0.1 and a tiny webserver called edexter to serve up any pic i want.

AdBlock Plus for Firefox works incredibly well, especially with the Filterset.G updater plugin also installed.  It doesn't block those banners though, which is good as far as I'm concerned.
