Title: Tracks too loud
Post by: sherbs on June 23, 2008, 05:46:14 pm
I'm using Replay Gain and most files are in the region of -8 to -9 dB but a few are +51 dB and blow you off your chair when they play. Is there some way I can change this?

Thanks.

Try analyzing them again.

If the analyzer still gets it wrong, please send a sample to matt at jriver dot com.

Thanks.

Program says there's nothing to analyze so I've sent you a track.

Cheers

have you deselected 'skip analysed files' in the audio analyse screen.

maybe this thread could help a bit also.. http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=44699.0

Thanks for the file.

The tag says the file was tagged with build 438, and the replay gain is 51.  I don't know if it was a tag reading, audio analyze, or tag writing glitch.

However, if you force a re-analyze (untick 'Skip analyzed files') it gets the right value.

Once I'd unchecked 'skip' all my 51 dBs became -8s.

Thanks for the help.

Strange this occurred, never had it happen.
