Title: Low Priority - Terabyte Denomination
Post by: benn600 on July 17, 2009, 11:57:08 pm
It wouldn't hurt to add terabyte (and petabyte) to the space calculation processes.  I really don't like seeing non-formatted numbers in general (anywhere) ie: 10000 vs. 10,000 [more difficult to read].  But obviously, the most appropriate denomination would resolve this issue too.  Thanks.

Heh, i've felt the same thing about the status bar where it indicates how many files there are.

I know.  I really don't like non-formatted numbers.  I can read my screens fine unless there's a long block of numbers, then I have to get close to carefully examine the digit groups.

You win the prize for biggest drive.

Coming soon:
Changed: When displaying file sizes over 1000 GB, TB (Terabytes) will be used (i.e. 1.3 TB instead of 1300.0 GB).
Changed: When displaying file sizes over 1000 TB, PB (Petabytes) will be used.

We have an office pool about how long before you outgrow it again ;)

Oh, great.  I always enjoy hearing talks of bets around the forum.

My uncle bet me about getting Blu-Ray on it before Christmas.  At 50GB per disc, yikes.

The previous 7TB lasted 2 years--or 1.5 realistic years.  I was pushing it the last 6 months.  This is 31.5TB total (4.5 times the space).

For looking back on later, currently "Beryllium" (this massive drive) is at:
Used: 6.85 TB
Free: 21.7 TB
Cap: 28.6 TB  (31.5TB measured by HDD mfr)

Looking forward to that day my self :)

Any chance you could add some kind of spacing in other numbers as well? Number of tracks, albums etc. Like 15 000 or 15,000? It's just a bit hard to read the numbers when there's a lot of digits.

We need a larger denomination for INTEGERS!  15000 songs = 15 Ksongs.

15 Tsongs

LOL
