It's none of my business - but are you the Yaobing from UConn with the a PhD in Physics?

I say Yes. Yaobing used to have physics students (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=67610.msg454530#msg454530) and has stated that he is no longer a physicist (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=85240.msg583690#msg583690).

Yeah, I have a profile on LinkedIn, but I did not put much info in it.  That is why you had to guess.

I haven't put much into my LinkedIn profile either, but I get solicitations from recruiters constantly.  It's amazing how pushy they are and how shocked they are when I tell them that I'm happy with my current job and have no interest in making a change.  If they really get pushy, I tell them how many vacation days I get (I've been with my current company for almost 20 years now) and ask if the job they have in mind can match that - that usually puts an end to it. :)

A good recruiter will call you to ask about other people you know doing similar work, and casually ask how your current job is going.

It seems you get called by crude recruiters.

FYI - it was Yaobing that pulled me into the JR orbit all those years ago - Kudos to Yaobing!
