This isn't entirely MC9-based but someone out there might have some clues.

I just upgraded to a Barton 3000 with an MSI K7N2 Delta motherboard which is nForce2-based.  My soundcard is an M-Audio Revolution 7.1.  Running XP with SP1.

Since then, I've noticed that when I type on my Logitech mx700 Cordless Duo wireless keyboard, I sometimes get little hiccups in sound.  I've adjusted the ASIO Buffers in the Revo drivers.  I've adjusted the buffers in MC9.  It keeps happening and only when I'm typing (and it doesn't matter the program:  whether I'm typing into a textbox in a browser or writing code in VS.NET, it hiccups slightly and randomly).

Has anyone heard of anything similar to this?

That sounds like an interrupt problem.  You'll need the advice of someone better with hardware than I am, but until you get it, I might try changing the order of the cards you in use.

My other thought was radio interferance but that seems like a stretch.  You can move the mouse and keyboard to another channel.

I had the same problem w/ my MS Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse combo and got rid of it and the problem went away.
I have the same soundcard.

After I wrote this post I remembered that because of my old motherboard, I had a kind of goofy keyboard hook-up.  This motherboard supports USB keyboards so I switched that on in the BIOS, plugged both the mouse and keyboard directly into USB and the problem has (so far) disappeared.  

Now if I could only figure out how to speed the keyboard up a little bit.  I type just slightly faster than it transmits so there's this weird tiny bit of lag.  It's odd but not too annoying.

Do all wirelesss keyboards experience this lag at high typing speeds (aka. 120+ WPM)?

By the way, Wobbley, thanks for the bluetooth mention.  I was actually thinking of replacing my keyboard/mouse setup with that but I was balking at the price.  Now I know to not bother!

I get the same problem with my Logitech Optical Cordless Desktop. I have an Audigy2 soundcard, NForce2 chipset and an Athlon 2000XP CPU. I will have to look at how I connect my keyboard. I think it is hooked up via the PS2 connector so I will try USB tonight and report back.

I have a hp wired keyboard and logiteck cordless mouse hooked up to PS2 and a Silitek cordless keyboad and Gyration cordless mouse connected to USB simultaneously and all work fine. No speed problems either. Also running 2 VGA monitors thru a G-550 controlled by AMD 1.2 Duron w/512 Ram.The only quirk I have is the cursor dissapears over certain fields on the secondary monitor.

Unfortunately I can't plug my keyboard in using USB so I guess I'll have to live with the glitches.

I've experienced, on some occasions but not too recently, hiccups in audio when using the wheel of my Logitech Cordless optical mouse. It's very slight, sometimes I've even wondered if I really heard it, but it's happened enough that I know it really did occur. I use a different audio card and not using ASIO but a card proprietery direct-sound output, and XP SP1 also.

I have this set too and never had a problem.  They work lightening fast just like a conventional KB & M.  When I used the USB I did get the occassional problem whereby I'd have to restart windows to see the mouse.  I checked with logitech and learned that, although the kit supports USB, you should only really use that for MAC.  For windows, if you have PS/2 ports that's what you should use and it works like a dream.
