Activex plugin in 9.1.212?
« on: July 10, 2003, 07:44:17 pm »

Just downloaded and installed 9.1.212, but still no Activex plug-in option in DSP Studio. Am I doing something wrong?

<bump>

I'm not the only one who's wondering this... can we please get an answer, or at least a response? Apologies if it's answered somewhere else and I missed it, but I've looked and haven't seen it.

Thanks.

9.1.215. No ActiveX plug-ins in DSP studio, no answer to this question. Come on--if you're not going to answer, then at least respond to this thread and say, "we're not going to answer that question." Don't leave me hanging here...

That's right. Sorry if I was unclear, but I assumed folks would know what I was talking about. I'll explain:

Early versions of 9.1 had a feature called "directx host", I think, that allowed MC to playback music through directx plugin effects. This feature was available in the DSP Studio. It was apparently removed around 9.1.03 or something and as far as I can tell, it never came back. I'm trying to figure out if it's gone for good or whether it will come back in a later release. I was really excited about this feature!

It'll be back someday.  It was pulled becaues it was causing problems on some machines.

Please include this in the next release.
I'm using it now on 9.0 and it kicks but and works fine. With the plug-in support it makes MC9 THE BEST media player.
No other player has the option of adding advanced DSP through plug-ins like this that I know of. I checked out every program I could find that played monkey audio but the direct-x host support for plug-ins puts this program OVER THE TOP.
Thank you for a great program and please bring this feature back!

DirectX host plug-in is available on Media Center's plug-ins page.

http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/mcplugins.pl?type=5

It will not be included with Media Center installer.

The answer is very simple: the plug-in is not very stable on some systems.
