Crashing after a few seconds on Sierra Mac Mini
« on: March 01, 2017, 01:13:00 am »

Jut purchased Media Center 22 about two weeks ago. I have been having problems with Theater view crashing when I try to exit. I didn't like it but I could live with it until it is fixed in a later release.

Today I tried to simply open the program and it crashes after 5 to 10 second. After several attempts I was able to create a log file and attached it to the post. I have searched the forum and tried turning of auto import, analyze, rebooted and reinstalled the software.

I also tried emailing someone named Matt whose name I found on the forum about a week ago but have not heard back. Can someone please give me some guidance? I now have money and a lot of time invested in the software and don't want to be forced to switch to another product...

Please try build 22.0.75 from the top of this board.

Thank you for your help JimH.

I installed build 22.0.75 from the board and it seem to have helped a little. I seem to able to open the program without it crashing immediately. I did a little test and turned (auto import in background) back on and that made it crash within seconds. When I turn it off it seems stable now.

I tried running a manual import thinking I'll just leave auto import off and call it a day. However, when I tried importing manually from File->Library->Import->Run Import  that also makes the program crash.

Is there a file that's is being imported that's making it crash? Is there another way to get new music imported into JRiver without using auto import or File->Library->Import->Run Import?

I am attaching a new JRiver log and the problem report dropbox link. Thanks for your help!

Try editing your auto import settings and importing a single file type at a time.  Some file is probably causing trouble.  If you find it, we'd like to see it.

What types of files do you have?

I think it's this file:
/Volumes/PLEX4TB/Music/_ALAC/Peter Gabriel - So/04 That Voice Again.m4a

I'd love to see a copy if you'd email it to matt at jriver.

Thanks.

Could you share the file?  What is the source of it?
