Videos no longer playing back
« on: January 24, 2018, 01:52:41 pm »

I'm not sure what happened but all of a sudden videos are not playing back on J River.  I have Plex Server installed as well and I'm able to stream the same movies to the Roku via Plex.  Here is what I have done to troubleshoot:

Tried playback with other programs: Works fine
Tried opening MC 23 (32 Bit version): No luck
Uninstalled MC 23 (32 Bit version):  No luck
Played audio file from MC 23 (64 bit version):  Works fine

So the issue is specifically limited to video files on MC 23 (64 or 32 bit versions).  I have attached a log file that I created.

Try both Red October Standard and HQ.

Switching to Red October HQ allows the file to play but all I get is a green screen (audio in the background).

And ~OM~ I'm running Windows 7 Home and Auto Update is on.  Looks like the most recent updates were all for Windows Defender plus a Security and Quality rollup for .NET

So I switched back to Red October SD and turned OFF hardware accelerate when possible.  This seems to have fixed the issue.  Any thoughts why this would all of a sudden become an issue?

Perhaps a graphics driver update? I would recommend to install the latest driver for your graphics card and see if that remedies it.

Windows is on AutoUpdate and the latest ones seemed to be Security and Quality Rollups.  I'll try to roll the video driver back and see if that corrects the issue.  Seems to work fine without hardware acceleration so it may be moot.
