I hadn't used it in a while, but I just tried to use Shuffle on the TiVo when accessing an album, genre, etc. (not a random smartlist). It doesn't work for me -- the songs play in the same order as when Shuffle is off. I don't know when this stopped working for me, but it was happening in build .177 and now I just updated to build .180 and had the same results. I rebooted the server machine as well. Shuffle works fine with TiVo's Publisher.
Looking at Media Server's log, I noticed a tcp_failed write error=10054, which I have no idea if that is related to shuffle not working. Here is an excerpt of the log when shuffle was on:
