Uninstall JRiver 29
« on: May 01, 2023, 07:50:56 pm »

Hi, I have just installed JRiver 30 and it is up and running with no problems. I then tried to uninstall 29 however it won't uninstall. I tried an uninstall through control panel > uninstall a program but nothing happens. I then tried clicking on JRMediaUninstall.exe in Media Centre 29 folder but again nothing happens. 29 still runs when starting it.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Robert

P.S. I haven't had this problem with previous versions.

Permissions?  Or something else is preventing it.  Antivirus, etc.

You could try Geek Uninstaller to force uninstall. It's just a tiny portable program.

I really don't like those uninstall apps, they don't always work.

The best way to fix this is to reinstall Media Center 29 then uninstall it.

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.

Fair enough. I can vouch for that one though It's portable, under 2MB and pretty well known. You're right though and better option, reinstall over the top and try again.

If you are going to rely on one of these apps - Revo Uninstaller is the only one I trust. It will find anything and everything - every time.

Just uninstalled MC 29 on three machines and it is very interesting what gets left behind in the registry even after telling the JRiver installer to remove ALL registry files.

Cheers

JRiver recommends strongly against using any uninstaller other than JRiver's.

Closing this now.
