Can't play a CD to a remote zone
« on: December 09, 2023, 01:56:45 pm »

The PC running MC 31 has an audio CD in the drive and the drive appears in MC's Drives and Devices. I am able to add the tracks on the CD to any of several zones but when I try to play them, I get the message: "There was a problem controlling the selected DLNA device". This occurs with all remote zones (Sonos, upstairs Denon). Sending FLACs from my MC library to these same zones works fine, so it seems this issue isn't really with the zones but rather the source. Both zones are associated with the Generic DLNA server, which is downsamples to 192k if the source is > 192k.

Any suggestions?

You can't play a track from a CD to a remote zone.  You have to rip the CD first.

Thanks. My use case was to be able to play my wife's CD without having to rip it or have it end up in the library. And MC does such a nice job of consolidating all the possible DLNA destinations.
