Is JRiver what I need?
« on: July 27, 2024, 02:33:02 pm »

Hello,

i've made myself a new PC

Ryzen 5 3600
16go Ram
GPU Nvidia RTX4060
W11 pro.

96 TB of ISOS ( Blu-ray/ UHD)

4K Sony TV + X4300 Denon Integrated + 5.1.2 speakers.

I have a few questions/ requirements !

1- Is my rig powerful enough to enjoy Max quality with JRiver Renderer? ( 4K HDR ISO RIPS )

2- JRiver has a lot of functions. I only need video+ audio . It is possible to configure the player to mask unwanted functions to make the player  more "simple" looking?

3- Is JRiver Renderer  Able to process DV signal to the DV TV with player LED processing for example.

4- Is JRiver Renderer able to Dynamically tone map DV signal to an HDR projector for exemple?

5- Is JRiver Renderer able to compete with Madvr for his processings?

6- Is JRiver able to mount ISOS on his own, or requires an external virtual device to play Isos?

7- is there somewhere a walkthrough for audio and  video  settings?

This software, where it has landed, could be the very thing i need.

I'm Currently using a R_volution player ( ex zappiti) , and i wanted to know if i could preserve the nice User experience, as well as pushing video quality a bit further.

Thank you for reading me , and for giving me bits of intel i would need.

It should work.  You'll need to use the trial version to find out.

Here's how you can modify the GUI:

There are several tonemapping topics on the forum, but I think so.

Yes, but JRVR is way better IMO.
