HELP!!
« on: December 25, 2002, 09:21:40 am »

:o
I used the move feature in MC 9 to move a bunch (around 2000) of files to one folder so I could make Tag changes on all of them. The problem came when I realized that I moved them out of the folders that told me the artist and album. Is there anyway to undo the batch move and put them all back into the folders where they came from so I can see the folder structure again to tag them properly?

No

Whats Done Is Done

They Should Have Been Taged Properly.

You might Use the option "Look Up Tag Info On YADB"

That sucks!!

Perhaps I should put this as a wish list feature.
Would it be possible to add this capability to MC?

It is too bad that this feature doesn't exist iin Windows beyond the Recycle Bin.

Any ideas of third party software that will solve this quandry?

Why did you move them to a different folder just to make tag changes to them? You can select all sorts of files, residing in all sorts of various folders and make tag changes to them without moving them from their current locations first.

Don't you just hate that?

People Are Lazy

if the tags are in the file name, you can use MJ's option to import tags from the file name to the tag fields.

or use my plugin Called Gonkulator

Gonkulator is pretty cool. I have only played with it a little though.I am not very familiar with it yet.

I am still learning MANY things about the power of MC and the plugins. (And limitations as noted above!!)

I am amazed with the features...many of which i have no idea how to even begin to use. But I read the forums several times a day trying to learn new stuff.

yea i need to work on it more, the Tag-Field Import is really not change able. But i use it for that reason almost everyday. if you download 1000 files with no ID3 tags it can get the tags from the file name for all 1000 of them in just a few seconds. it is not perfict but it works.

My other Program Chart Finder Allot of users Use to find out if there music Has Charted. I am playing with a New Version I will put out in a week or so.

It Has Better Matching, And It Will Now Also try to revirse the Artist Field And The Song Name Field Then Attempt To Find That File Again.

As I Download File I attempt To Correct The Database And The Program For Better Matches.

One Other Thing That Has improved Is It Will Now Match If The Title Uses "U" And Not "You" In The Song Name Along With "Nothin'" And "Nothing" (Basicly Anything With A "In" Or "Ing" ending Of a word will now match if it is in the database).

Some More Options Like Strip "MP3" And "Copy Of" from the song name of all scanned files since i have found this in Downloadable files sometimes.

The program also attemps to See if the Artist name Is Also In The Song Name And If So Remove It From The Song Name So A match Can Be Made.

KingSparta,

Gonkulator:

It no longer installs on Win98, or at least on mine. I get the same Registry error message.
