How to avoid MJ8 to play CDs?
« on: December 23, 2002, 03:39:32 pm »

Your product is great. Congratulations!
I need help with MJ8. I just got the Audigy2 to play DVD audio. MJ8 is taking over the DVD and trying to read it, not allowing the Creative player to work.
I disabled all the file associations in MJ but it keeps comming back: mpl and mp, even after they are unchecked. Both AudioCD settings are blank: use digital playback and enable on-line lookup.
I have Windows XP and I am using 8.0.393
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

In MJ settings, the last choice is "file associations".  At the bottom it has an option for playing CD's.  Try changing that.

Thanks for the kind words and welcome to Interact.

Gracias amigo Jim for the fast answer.
No, your suggestion did no do the trick.
I guess that I have to reinstall the 2 programs. Also, to complicate the matters, I installed PowerDVD.

If you disassociate it from MJ, then you need to reassociate it with Creative (by reinstalling if there is no Creative option to do so).

You can hold down the shift key for 5-10 sec's after inserting DVD (works on CD's...should work on DVD's). Temporarily disables autorun, autoplay, etc.
