Image Usage - Questions

I've been experimenting using MC for images and have some questions.

1.  Why does Image name

   200309 xxxx
   sort before
   20030301 yyy

   (with ascending sorting of the name field).

2.  I had many of the images in the set I imported as read-only.  And when I changed tags on those images, MC renamed my original pix (with a (1) name change) file and created a new one that had the tags changed.  Why would it choose to do this, instead of just telling me it can't write the tag changes?  This seems wrong, and fills up my hard drive...

3.  It seems to want to sort (it always returns to...) by the file date/time.  Since I name my files as YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS <name>, I really want to sort by the base filename, MC seems to fight me on this (see #1 above).

Did you try creating a view scheme with the options you want?

You can tag images by selecting them first and then hitting Alt-Enter.

Finding the images by name is not necessary if the tags are filled in and a view scheme is used.
