converting from 8 to 9...
« on: November 28, 2003, 06:00:23 pm »

A Media Jukebox V8 license purchased before December 3, 2002, will work with Media Center, without additional cost.

Uhm, I just bought V8, and I'm trying V9. I got my license before Dec 3rd, but V9 won't take it.

The file name is called:

Media Jukebox8-33711.mjr

I'm doing help > install license > from HD

Is that correct?

Thanks a lot in advance

That is an install key and it's only good for 14 days.  You need to find your Registration Code and use a restore.

Details are here:

Ok, my bad. I bought V8 just know, Nov30 2003, without checking Media center before. Now I did and I like Media Center much better (Congratulations on the improvements in the interface!).

The thing is that I read the page for Mediacenter and thought "well. I don't need all that integration!". I didn't know how many improvements were added appart from the integration of all kinds of devices (hint for marketing and the web designers ;) ).

I tend not to install new programs unless I really need them, so I didn't give it a try anb bought V8 instead, which I knew and liked. However, after reinstalling it and licensing it, my DSP studio doesn't show anything at all (not even the eq that came with the demo version, strange), so I have lost functionality.

I could spend time troubleshooting, but why? V9 DSP studio works, and the interface is much better.

Can I upgrade? I couldn't find any information about how in to do that
on the site.

THanks,

You can upgrade.  It's in the FAQ.

Install MC, then purchase.
