Ripping problem with 10.0.64
« on: February 08, 2004, 06:56:00 am »

Can't get MC 10.0.64 to rip/play CDs.
Load CD, MC starts rip (or play) then after a few minutes CD ejects and after a few more moments MC shows all tracks as FAILED with following error message:
Media Center encountered errors while trying to play the last several files.
Error: Unknown error.
Please make sure that the path  your media library points to the right location.

I have checked, rechecked and fingered MC configuration and options to no success.
Any ideas?
Wil

Any CD?  Either drive?

Did you try reinstalling?

Did it ever work?

Has anything changed?  Other software?  Hardware?

Same problem here with the internal dvd rom drive (LG DVD lg gdr8161b). Reinstalling is not a solution.

I've tried installing some aspi layers, starting with the adaptec 4.71.2. Again, no solution.

Plays cd if use digital playback is NOT ticked, but no ripping.

No problem with a firewire CD writer.

The problem is not totally media center specific. Winamp plays and rips without problem. EAC works with internal DVD with aspi layer and with external firewire cd writer using native nt drivers. itunes, as media center, only works with firewire unit.
