Moving files to a different PC/folder
« on: February 09, 2004, 10:20:40 am »

Hi there,

I have my music files stored in d:\archive and I want to move my hole archive to a different PC with only one hard disk, so the new folder will be let's say c:\archive. It's not a big thing to copy the files but I want to tell the library that the files are now on drive "c" instead of drive "d". Of course I can import the "new" files but than I would loose all the informations concerning playlists smartlist and so on. One possible way might be to mount the old hard disk on the new PC and "rename" the files in the Library to C:\archive\... but this will not work if on the new pc only one hard disk is possible. I'm looking for an easier way e.g. to rename the entries inside the library from "d:\" to "c:\". Does anyone know how this can be done?

Thanx
