MC and Netremote
« on: March 09, 2004, 03:05:08 am »

Last night i installed Netremote on my WLan PPC to control MC remote and wireless.
What should i say, i installed it, activated MC Server and ... it runs without problems! I didn't expect any trouble, of course, but i was really amazed about the new functionality of MC.
MC rocks!

In the second step i played around, mapped the Source-Dir of the MC Mp3-Files to my PPC. Now it is possible to stream the files directly to the PPC and play them with the On-Board Player(with Headphones). I have little hopes, that this would be a feature of MC and Netremote in the near future  ::)

Thanks a lot to the MC Team !

How do you map directories on a ppc?

@Mastiff:
after a looooong search, i found this:

http://www.pcdemano.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=51

and it's freeware. It runs quiet well on my loox / PPC2002.
I am not shure about the language of this side(i don't speak spanish), but the software is in english and easy to handle. Thanks to Pepegg !

Thanks! I will look into it. btw my old PPC is a Loox, and the sound quality with playing MP3s is tragic. But so is my new one, an Ipaq 5450. Which is why I doubt that there will be streaming from NetRemote, the sound just isn't good enough.

But this is not the problem from Netremote but from the client !
I think the sound isn't so tragic with my Koss Portas, but i must say i am not very sophisticated in (hope this is the right word) the sound of the music in theese situations when i want to use the loox (cutting the grass, vacuum-cleaning, doing handikraft etc.)
I know you are more engaged in this, i'm a fan of your homepage. Your old things are enough for me  ;)

Thanks! Well, I'm probably a bit more particular than many, yes.  ;D
