Chicoselfs,
I'm not sure whether you know that Nikolay Sokratov, our CTO, is Russian.  He can help, I hope.

If you like Russian choral-religous music, then look for Sacred Treasures I & III (Choral Masterworks from Russia) off of the Hearts of Space label (sold thru Amazon). It is extremely beautiful music.

This is one Nikolay had that I liked:

Alexander Rosenbaum

I had to go to google to find his name.  The search was:

russian music train alexander

and it worked.

If you find Russian folk music you like, it would be nice to hear what you've found.

What about "Trans Siberian Orchestra" they are not folk but rather clasical style with rock meshed into it. I found most songs quit pleasant.

I found that but is not what i'm looking but it's very beautiful, i also found a preview of some of the songs. I'm looking for folk music, i have folk music from almost over the world, one of my hobbies is put my recorder in the car and travel in my country recording old people singing and playing music of the "old" days with traditional portuguese instruments, i'm starting a web-page based on that and it means lots of work believe me, my interest by russian music started when we made Expo98 in Lisbon and a russian group perfomed there with russian folk music and i'm in love since then with they're music

One reference of this kind of music in a film, i remember a movie "The Man Who Knew Too Little" from 1997 with Bill Murray, the final part when Bill is dancing.

You have few sites like mp3.com., but russian sites.
There is all kind of music.
The problem is that it is all russian.Even to register.
f you find one you would like to acces ,let me know.
If registration in latin -i mean like dret56-yu786t as registration , i can ask russian friend here to register for you with name password you want. He may needs your town ,birth date.
Like mp3.com .
You can put any non sense you want ,but you do need to give a working email and date of birth who makes you more than 18 years old .
If not you may not have access to some soncs because of the lyrics
