Don't you need a "stop" button?
« on: March 30, 2005, 12:36:05 am »

Yes, I know we have a stop button in the playback controls, but that's not the one I need... I'd need a "stop" button to simply stop an action.

Sometimes, I accidentally click on the "playlists" branch in the tree when I just wanted to collapse the thing. This "clicking" triggers an action that (because of the size of my library) can take a long time to complete. For instance, last night I clicked accidentally on the "filexist" smarlist... it took almost 12 minutes to complete an action (checking if any of my 202,000 songs was missing) that I really did not wanted to perform, making MC irresponsive during that time and leading to the famous playback stuttering as soon as the currently playing song finished.

Perhaps it's just me that I click where I should not, but a "stop action" button, like the one on the web browsers that we use to stop loading a page, is something that I miss and that would be very much appreciated. If only the "ESC" key worked that way...

Anybody else having the same problem?

Thank you.

Thats something Id love to see on the whole of windows, not just a single piece of software. But until ms catches up, it sounds like a nice feature.
