We Have All Talked About This Before, "The Delete Folder Problem"

Something I Just Noticed:

When I Start MC11 Up (Fresh Start Up) Then Changed The Name Of The "Artist" Then Renamed It It Did Not Ask me To Delete the Folder. There Was One File In The Folder, Then None After The Rename.

I Did This Like 10 Times And MC Never Asked Me To Delete The Folder.

Then I Just Straight Out Deleted A Lone File In A Folder, And MC Asked To Delete The Folder.

After That When I Used Rename MC Allways Asked Me If It Should Delete The Folder.

Using 11.0.309

Can Someone Confirm?

I tried these, but couldn't reproduce any problems. Marko - could you give me a more detailed set of steps to follow, to make sure I'm doing the same thing?

Also Note: I Am Using Windows NT Formated Drive (Windows Xp SP2)

I Have Tried Like Another 4 Times And Can Re-Create It Every Time.

You Must Close MC11 And Restart MC11

I've noticed this too; Changing the album (and telling MC to change the path as well) made all files in that album to move to a new folder, leaving the old one wothout asking if I wanted to delete it...a new feature perhaps?

I've had problems with folders not deleting when empty also...mostly when I do Back jobs...I've gotten into the habbit of checking the folders to make sure it was deleted now

How About This Theary (Because This Just Happen) And I Am Not Sure Exactly Why Yet But Could Have Been One Of Two Reasons Below.

I Had Windows Explorer With A Open Folder (One I Was Renaming From Fields)

Once It Could Not Delete One Of The Folders, It Seems To Have Stopped And did not get a chance to try to delete the other folders it should have deleted.

So if MC11 hits an error (for what ever reason) the complete folder delete que is abandon (maybe due to a trap in the code to protect MC from crashing).

And Or

If Windows Media Played A File, And Even If A User Presses Stop The File Will Not Be Moved Or Deleted. Now I Have A Red X MC Is Now Pointing To A File That Does Not Exist (It's Pointing To (New Location) Where It Should Be And Not Where It Is (Still At Old Location) Because It Did Not Really Move It. And I Got The Same Result As Above.

It Seems With Windows Media Player, If You Play A Media File, And Then Stop The Play, Windows Media Still Keeps The File Open. Only When You Play Another File Does It Release The File.

I Will Play With This More Later, I Need To Go Change The Oil In My Car.
