I think that message comes up when you install a global mouse/keyboard hook which is what MC (and PN) does.

MC tries to install a Global keyboard hook and the new ZA blocks them unless you allow it. You will see this alert often as many legitimate programs install global hooks for functionality. Malicious programs like Trojans can use global hooks to monitor your keystrokes for login information. You can turn this off in ZA’s program control but this also turns off alerts for programs trying to access the Internet. I use Process Guard which blocks Global Hooks as well and I have yet to find a program that didn’t function properly without installing them.

See the message above. Basically trojans can get your account info, login info and so on by doing this.

From Zonelabs web details of the problem:
Quote
A program may legitimately monitor your system to observe what events are occurring. However, if a program is malicioius, this action could be associated with an attempt to record keystrokes, mouse clicks, and other types of malicious behavior.

Due to the potential threat, only programs which have been given explicit permission to observe what events are occuring on your system, will be allowed to do so.

He's using 6.0.

ZoneAlarm is warning because, as Rhino pointed out, MC does hook the keyboard.  This is necessary to be able to adjust behavior for the media keys.

I'm closing this thread now since it is really a Zonealarm issue.
