QuickTime 7
« on: September 07, 2005, 02:12:09 pm »

Apple has now officially released QT7 for Windows platform.

Has anyone tested the preview or published version of QT7 with MC11?

Will QT7 continue to work with MC like v.6.5 does now? In other words: should I stay with my installed v.6.5.2?

Also, installing the latest version of iTunes will upgrade QT to v.7.

I guess you answered to my first question.  ::) :)

I think this time JRiver should test this for us. MC uses QT and QT 6.5 is not available anymore.

If anybody still wants to download Quicktime v6.5.2 you can get it on the "Support" section of Apple's web site:

I've installed Quicktime 7 on my HTPC and can confirm that it works fine with MC11. The only issue i have is when viewing AVC files (prepared for my PSP) in fullscreen. The playback becomes very slow and occasionally the picture distorts. I'm not sure what is causing the issue but having trawled through the net for hours I am still unable to come up with any solutions. I have a feeling it may be that my processor is too slow (Sempron 2600) or that I dont have enough RAM, but the video files are of low bitrate so they copy to my 512MB memory stick. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has had the same or similar issues... ?

I think Quick Time Alternative has made a v7 and I works with MC. At least the lates build that I have, which is based on the QT7 beta.

I installed QT7 after my previous post here and I have played my .mov videos without problems. However, I don't have AAC music files or audiobooks in my library.
