Volume control problem
« on: December 06, 2005, 10:55:54 am »

The volume slide doesn't work for System volume; the display gives me sound volume figures, but the actual sound level doesn't change. The problem appears only with my SoundBlaster Audigy NX2 card, not with the internal Realtek AC 97 card.

The volume of the SoundBlaster card can be controlled with the Windows volume controls, so it seems to be in the interaction between Media Center and the sound card..

The first time I noticed this was after the uppgrade from 11.0.176 to 11.1.72.

Try switching MC options for playback from WAV out to DirectSound or vice versa.

Switching from WAV out to DirectSound and restarting MC fixed it.

Thank you!
